• First, the New Republic has a nice piece about the unseen impacts of massive student loan debt. In short, it strips away the possibility for a young person to take risks with his or her professional life. There is no American Dream; it’s a false screen.
• A few days ago NPR reported on how millennials aren’t seeing enough from presidential candidates. I wrote about this a few weeks back. When will candidates address the country’s largest (and mostly voter-eligible) generational group?
• Everyone’s talking about the Emmys, and most notably, Viola Davis’ speech about the lack of good film roles for black women in the entertainment industry. Millennials have the ability to change not only the way Hollywood casts roles, but also how movies and television shows are imagined. Cash rules everything in the industry, so it’ll take decades to make significant change.
